Current advancements are underway in autonomous movement and mobility, artificial intelligence and machine learning, manipulation, simulation, robotic management software, predictive analytics, and much more.

This individual will work in the Process Engineering team to support the development of component packaging for NPI projects, that encompasses all AR product lines including internal Drive Unit manufacturing and external pass through onsite FC install solutions, with suppliers based on production line requirements and deployment milestones. The engineer will work towards the identification, development and commercialization of new, improved and cost efficient packaging, while supporting the cross functional support tasks. There will be collaboration with multiple teams including; Process Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Hardware Design, Technical Operations, Logistics, Deployment Engineering and the suppliers to create new packaging initiatives. Along with NPI packaging development, the packaging engineer will also:
• Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.
• Take ownership of current production level general availability packaging systems and conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to address field quality defects associated to packaging.
• Manage logistical flow and inventory levels of current returnable packaging systems.
• Assist Production team in the development and maintenance of an internal Kanban delivery system for Level 1 subcomponent parts for internal Drive Unit production.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical /Industrial Engineering
• Familiar with packaging base materials and systems
• SolidWorks and AutoCad Design background
• Familiar with Transportation and Logistics Principles
• Ability to review, write and implement packaging SOP's and WI's
• Strong understanding of materials management, JIT, Kanban
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree
• 5+ years of relevant packaging work experience
• Understanding of Automotive Returnable Packaging Systems
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to lead project with minimal supervision
• Strong work ethic, desire to learn and be challenged, self-driven and motivated
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to think outside of the box and innovate
