Governance Manager | Risk Compliance Services

The Amazon Risk and Compliance Services team supports our Amazon Payments businesses around the world. We are seeking an experienced governance and/or risk manager to join our single threaded Licensed Entity Governance and Oversight (LEGO) team. Reporting to Governance, the Governance Manager will oversee, coordinate or directly manage integration of enhanced Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) practices and internal governance standards for Amazon payment entities including communicating culture and standards, assessing completeness of regulatory framework repositories and adequacy of internal control mappings to those regulations, driving documentation control practices, creating, measuring and reporting on KPIs and leading Board meetings.

Responsibilities
• Analyze the current state of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) practices and Governance Practices
• Participate or lead prioritization discussions regarding ERM and Governance enhancement opportunities
• Align multiple stakeholders on issues or opportunities, appropriate solutions and plan to implement solutions/best practices for ERM and Governance enhancement opportunities identified.
• Lead implementation of ERM and Governance enhancement opportunities either by overseeing, coordinating or directing implementation of defined solutions to other teams or by directly owning / managing implementation yourself.
• Lead completeness assessments for identified regulations in scope. Complete reviews and/or testing to assess the adequacy of internal controls designed to satisfy regulatory requirements. Similar to above for ERM and Governance, coordinate with stakeholders to identify enhancement opportunities, align on a solution and oversee or management correction implementation.
• Communicate plans, results, and next steps concisely and effectively across the organization, including directly to Senior Leadership during Board meetings.
• Develop ERM and Governance relevant KPIs, monitor, analyze and present KPI progress directly to Senior Leadership during management and Board meetings.
• Coordinate and own inputs for and lead Sr. leadership meeting and board meeting facilitation for one or more Amazon payment entities.

Basic qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in related field of study
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as this role will be responsible for preparing reports and presenting to senior level management.

Preferred qualifications
• Certification in governance or compliance field of study
• Prior experience with Payment Institution or E-money Governance and Compliance and related regulatory guidance (e.g. CSSF circulars, EBA guidelines, etc).
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with business partners in setting business goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated track record of taking ownership and driving results.
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically.
• Ability to collaborate with business partners in setting business goals and objectives.
• Ability to manage and analyze data.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, technical environment.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles required for this role.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.

Note: There will be opportunity (but no requirement) for international travel in this role once local government guidance reopens non-essential travel.
