Title: Software Development Engineer II

Location: Arlington, VA

Position Responsibilities:

Develop new features and improvements for the EC2 Console. Work with Product Managers and UX Designers to build web-based products that are easy to understand and improve the cloud resource management experience for AWS customers. Own customer-facing features from design, implementation, testing, and through deployment. Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Own quality and operational reliability of products. Understand trade-offs between usability, performance, internationalization and localization, cross-browser compatibility, obfuscation and optimization, and cutting-edge customer interface implementation. Have working knowledge of UI design principles and apply style guides to new interface use cases. Apply working knowledge of latest UI technologies, frameworks and concepts including HTML 5, REST, jQuery, AJAX, CSS3, SOA, responsive design. Understand fundamental data structures and algorithms and know how, when and when not to use them. Recognize and utilize user interface design patterns to solve business problems with highly accessible and usable web applications. Build an understanding of what customers do and why they do it to ensure the solution meets their needs and is fit for purpose.

Basic Qualifications:
Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related field. Must have at least 1 year of experience in the following skill(s): building large-scale web applications; experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Backbone; experience with responsive web design, media queries, resolution of independent image display, and delivering functionality across devices and platforms; and developing rich applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and integrating with REST APIs.
