We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager with hardware development and delivery experience to work on the Amazon Physical Stores Special Projects team. This is the same team that launched the Dash Shopping Cart which was recently profiled on Good Morning America. We have an additional confidential project, which operates at the intersection of Computer Vision, Research Sciences and Consumer Electronics, where we are looking for a senior technical leader to help us re-invent grocery shopping for customers.
This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position for a highly experienced professional. You'll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas including Just Walk-Out, Customer Trust and Ordering. You will partner with service owners to inform their architectures and product offerings, and drive adoption of innovative technologies. You will influence supplier's roadmaps and partner with them to launch custom products.

The successful candidate must have experience building and leading hardware development projects in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be highly technical, analytical, effective in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities.
The Principal Hardware Technical Program Manager (TPM) will collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, test and delivery. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will work with the Product Manager to derive the product requirements and obtain executive approval.
As a TPM you will be expected to gather business and functional requirements from external/internal customers, and translate requirements into technical specifications. As a TPM you will be expected to drive and motivate the cross-functional team to deliver the product(s) as per the agreed-to requirements and cross functionally manage other internal team members. Throughout this process the successful TPM will need to work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including Product Design, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Reliability and Operations. The individual must demonstrate technical leadership to:
• Drive execution of projects
• Lead cross functional project meetings
• Lead milestone reviews
• Present project status to the executive team
• Manage project builds globally
• This position may require International travel
- 5+ years of experience with product development life-cycles
- Strong understanding of technical requirements for technology integration
- Proficient at creating and tracking complex development schedules, managing issues and tracking bugs
• Consumer device manufacturing experience
• Exposure to system/device development, build and planning
• Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple programs efficiently
• Excellent leadership skills
• Hands on experience with development using outside supplier teams
In addition to Basic Qualifications previously listed the ideal candidate will have;
• Hands on experience with hardware development using outside supplier teams
. Experience working directly with the Alexa Ecosystem
. Experience working directly with Computer Vision technology and Human in the Loop Interface development
