The International Expansion team is part of the AWS Commerce Platform team. The team is responsible for the expansion of the AWS Commerce Platform across new regions and markets for the following core use cases: 1) to drive projects to build new regions 2) to think globally and act locally in delivering the best customer experience in any region, 3) to make new region expansion repeatable, simple, and faster, and 4) to deliver scalable systems/workflows to address the region specific regulatory/compliance requirements.
The International Expansion team is looking for software development engineers with a strong sense of ownership and passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems at \"Amazon scale\". You will design highly scalable systems, develop distributed services, and build solid platform solutions based on the real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements. You will collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing . We encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 2+ years of software development experience
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Fluency with Java, C/C++, or C#
• In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
• Strong problem solving ability and object-oriented design skills
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science
